Women Powered by Withings

As we approach the 50th Boston 10K for Women, our sponsor Withings will recognize 10 amazing athletes that reflect the courage, determination, and passion of our running community. We hope this ongoing blog series will introduce some new and familiar faces, and inspire you on your 10K journey.

Erin running in the Boston MarathonFor Erin McCarthy, running has always been about more than the miles—it’s about purpose.

A Marblehead, Massachusetts native and two-time Boston Marathoner with Team Dana-Farber, Erin has long used running as a way to give back. But in 2026, she’s taking that commitment even further. This year, she’s set an ambitious goal: one race per month, totaling 75 miles, while raising $7,500 for cancer research.
At the heart of this journey is someone who inspires every step she takes—her mother, Jill Weber.

Jill was a patient at Dana-Farber from 2017 until her passing in 2024 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Since then, Erin has carried her memory forward through action, channeling her grief into purpose. To date, she has raised nearly $45,000 for cancer research and support organizations, including Dana-Farber, Runway for Recovery, and The Ellie Fund.

Each race is more than a finish line—it’s a tribute.

For Erin, women’s races hold a special significance. As a daughter running in honor of her mother, these events represent strength, resilience, and the unbreakable bond between women across generations.

Last year, Erin took part in the Boston 10K for Women, and this October, she’ll return for its milestone 50th anniversary. It’s a race that perfectly reflects her mission: community, empowerment, and running with purpose.

Through every mile, Erin is not only raising funds—she’s raising awareness, honoring her mom, and reminding others that even in loss, there is strength.
