Charlotte Shook

Women Powered by Withings

As we approach the 50th Boston 10K for Women, our sponsor Withings will recognize 10 amazing athletes that reflect the courage, determination, and passion of our running community. We hope this ongoing blog series will introduce some new and familiar faces, and inspire you on your 10K journey.

As a mom of two in Columbus, Ohio, Charlotte reached a point where she felt like pieces of herself were slipping away in the constant rhythm of caring for others. Like many mothers, she was showing up for everyone else, but struggling to find space for herself.

So she started small.

What began as simple, quiet walks—just a few moments alone—quickly became something more. With each step, Charlotte began reclaiming not just her time, but her identity. In 2024, she took a leap and joined local run clubs, stepping out of her comfort zone and into a supportive community that helped her rediscover her strength.

That year, Charlotte completed four 5Ks and even pushed herself through the grit and challenge of a Spartan race. Each finish line wasn’t just an accomplishment—it was a reminder of what she was capable of.

Now, she’s setting her sights even higher, training for her first half marathon.

Charlotte’s journey is about more than miles or medals. It’s about rediscovery. It’s about proving that it’s never too late to invest in yourself, to grow stronger, and to chase something that’s just for you.

This October, Charlotte will bring that determination and spirit to the Boston 10K for Women—running not just as a participant, but as a powerful example of what it means to reclaim your story, one step at a time.
